Parties Galore This Month!

Since Broken Fate is releasing this month, I'm going to be making the rounds of a couple of parties to celebrate. Everyone is invited, of course! In addition to the parties listed below, some things may be added at short notice, so check my Events page occasionally to see if anything new pops up.

The first is the "official" release party on Facebook, thrown by my publisher, Clean Teen Publishing. It's on Friday, April 15th from 7:00 - 9:00 PM ET. There will be giveaways and fun, plus a chance to chat with me and two of CTP's other authors, Holly Kelly and Tamara Grantham.

Facebook release party

The second party is a live Twitter event on April 27th from 8:00 - 9:00 PM ET. Several of CTP's authors will be there and we'll all be taking questions and having a blast with fans. There will be a giveaway at the end of the evening with someone walking away with a mystery box full of goodies from Clean Teen Publishing. Just show up and follow #AskCTP to participate in the fun.

Author Q&A

I'm going to try to include an author Q&A in most of my newsletters. If you want to ask me a question, you can feel free to contact me through my website. Sometimes I may ask another author to answer a question, just to get a different perspective. This month's question is:

Do I write every day?

Pretty much, but it's not all fiction. I make my living as a freelance writer. I write everything from technical manuals to articles for blogs and websites. On the rare days when I'm not pressed with a deadline for my freelance or fiction projects, I use that time to catch up on my personal blog posts.

If I were giving advice to fiction writers, I'd say do whatever it is that keeps you moving forward. Some people need to work on their novel every day or else they lose momentum. Others can work only a couple of days per week, churn out amazing amounts of work on those days, and never forget where they are in a piece. And there are all kinds of writers in between. Figure out what works for you and do that.

New Release I'm Most Excited About

The Rose and the Dagger releases April 26th. It's the sequel to The Wrath and the Dawn, a unique twist on the legend of Shahrzad. If you haven't read the first, I highly recommend it to get ready for book two.

Newsletter Exclusive Giveaway

All subscribers to my newsletters are automatically entered into a giveaway for a $5.00 USD Amazon.com gift card. You don't have to do anything!

How it works: All subscribers will be assigned a number and then I'll use Random.org to choose a winning number. The drawing will be held on May 2, 2016 and I'll notify the winner as soon as possible. If, for whatever reason, the winner doesn't want their prize or I cannot contact them through a valid address, I will draw again.

(You must have a valid email address to receive the prize and note that while international winners are welcome, the card will be in US dollars.)

The winner will be posted in the next newsletter. Good luck!

Last month's winner was L. Wallace! Congratulations!
