This is an exciting time for me because not only is it another book, it’s another book that I wasn’t certain I could write. After I wrote the first one, I had horrible insecurity monsters asking me, “What if this one book was all you had in you? What if you can’t do it again?” I’m so relieved that I was, in fact, able to write a second book. Now I know the third will be much easier. In some ways…
- The Imagineering Way, by The Imagineers. My creativity well has run dry so I pulled these books off my shelf for a little pick-me-up. If you aren’t a Disney nerd like me, the Imagineers are the group at Disney responsible for designing the rides, movies, and everything else that makes Disney so awesome. They’re a huge creative think tank and they’re masters at seeing things differently. As such, they are a great source of inspiration when I’m struggling. This book is full of some of their collective wisdom and ideas. Even though I’ve read it before, it never fails to jump start my creative juices.
- The Imagineering Workout, by Peggy Van Pelt. This is the workbook that goes along with The Imagineering Way. There are fun exercises and thought experiments in here designed to get your brain cooking.
