Library Haul & Reading List 07/08/16

This week I’m launching a reread of the entire Harry Potter series in preparation for the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child later this month. Yeah, I probably don’t have to reread everything to be ready for it, but I want to! I haven’t lived in that world for a while and I want to spend my summer at Hogwarts. Since my acceptance letter has yet to show up (after all these years, I can only assume a serious administrative snafu), the books are the best I can do.

In other news, if you haven’t had a chance to enter my latest giveaway, you have until July 12th to enter! I’m celebrating Christmas in July and you can win two signed copies of Broken Fate. You can keep one and give the other away, either now or hold on to it and consider your Christmas shopping done.

  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling. These books probably need no description, but this is the first book in the series. Harry Potter heads off to Hogwarts school and learns that he is really a wizard.
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This second Harry Potter book introduces us to Dobby the elf and Moaning Myrtle. It’s also the book where we really start to get a sense of the true evil behind Lord Voldemort.
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Ah, the introduction of the Dementors, some of the scariest characters in all of literature. Anything that can suck the happiness right out of you should be feared! This is also the book where we begin to get a sense of Harry’s real family, and the darkness presented by Voldemort grows.
