Library Haul & Reading List – Thanksgiving Edition!

Well, there isn’t much to say this week except I hope you’re having a lovely Thanksgiving weekend if you’re in the U.S. (And if you’re not, I hope you’re having a lovely regular weekend!)

There’s no major news or events, just a couple of books that came in before the libraries shut down for the long weekend. Both are quick, easy reads which is nice since I’ll be eating and putting up Christmas decorations all weekend.

The Reading List

Double Down: Diary of a Wimpy Kid #11, by Jeff Kinney. This is the 11th book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. People laugh when they find out that I read these (and the Dork Diaries, as well) but Kinney does a great job of capturing the horrors of middle school in ways that make me smile and say, “I remember.” He also throws in some subtle barbs and tributes to fellow authors and pop culture institutions, so they’re just a fun way to pass an hour.

The Hammer of Thor, by Rick Riordan. This is the second book in Riordan’s Norse mythology series. I enjoyed the first one, so now it’s time to see if this one can follow through. I like Thor and Loki, so this should be an interesting tale.
