So, I’ve got some kinda big news…
Until further notice, all of my profits from my book sales (that’s the money I receive after Clean Teen Publishing takes their cut) will be donated to the Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption Center.
I plan to do this for the foreseeable future. I have no end date in mind, and this isn’t a “limited time promotion.” It’s just the way it’s going to be.
I have quite a few reasons for this move, but the biggest one is that I simply believe strongly in animal adoption and I want to give back to the place that gave me my beautiful girls.
If you’ve read Broken Fate, you know that Alex and Atropos adopt Maggie the dog. Maggie was based on my first shelter dog, who snoozed on my shoes as I wrote that book. Sadly, she died not that long ago but another fantastic dog entered my life not long after.
Shelter pets can be a source of great joy. Unfortunately, many (most?) shelters operate with very little money and have to put down adoptable animals due to lack of space and/or funds for care.
While the contribution I might make will be small compared to what’s needed, I’m happy to be able to donate this money going forward.
So, if you purchase any of my books, you’ll be helping to change the fate of animals at the Wake County Animal Center.
Thank you.
